VW Karmann Ghia Convertible Window to Windshield Pillar Seal – 141-923-L/R

Protect your interior from water intrusion and eliminate irritating wind noise with this specialized Window to Windshield Pillar Seal. This gasket is designed specifically for the Karmann Ghia Convertible and provides the critical seal where the front vertical edge of the door window glass meets the windshield A-pillar. Because convertibles lack a fixed window frame, this high-quality rubber seal is the primary defense against rain and road noise entering the cabin.

The 141-923-L/R is manufactured from durable, weather-resistant rubber designed to maintain its shape after years of being compressed by the door glass. This seal follows the exact factory contours of the Ghia’s windshield pillar, ensuring a flush and professional fit. Replacing worn or flattened seals is essential for preventing moisture from reaching your floorboards and dashboard components.

Detailed Vehicle Compatibility This seal fits Type 14 Convertible models across these years:

VW Karmann Ghia:

  • 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974

Product Highlights & Features Universal Left/Right Design: These seals are non-directional and can be used on either the Left (Driver) or Right (Passenger) side windshield pillar.

Weather-Tight Protection: Formulated to stay soft and pliable, ensuring it creates a tight vacuum seal when the door is closed and the window is fully raised.

Direct OE Replacement: Built to the exact specifications of factory part number 141-923-L/R for a seamless, bolt-on installation.

UV Resistant: Made from high-density rubber that resists drying out and cracking caused by prolonged sun exposure when the top is down.

Installation & Maintenance Tips Clean the Channel: Before installing the new seal, use a small pick or wire brush to remove all old rubber bits and adhesive from the metal channel on the windshield pillar. A clean surface is required for a watertight fit.

Adjust the Window: After installing the new seal, you may need to slightly adjust your window stop or tilt. Because the new rubber is thicker than the worn original, the window may require a bit more pressure to close fully for the first few days.

Check the Top Header: If you still experience leaks after replacing this seal, inspect the header bow seal where the convertible top meets the windshield. These two seals work together to protect the front of the cabin.

Lubrication: To prevent the window glass from "grabbing" the rubber and pulling it out of the channel, apply a light coat of dry silicone spray to the seal's contact surface once a season.
