JP Group Classic Line Ignition Breaker Points – 8191400610
The 8191400610 ignition points are designed to provide a reliable electrical trigger for your ignition coil. In a classic mechanical distributor, these points open and close as the distributor shaft rotates, collapsing the magnetic field in the coil to send a high-voltage spark to the spark plugs. The Classic Line series from JP Group focuses on maintaining the original metallurgy and spring tension required to prevent "points bounce" at higher RPMs.
These points are a direct replacement for the original 059-998-051B part number. Whether you are performing a routine tune-up or troubleshooting a "no-start" condition, installing a fresh set of points along with a new condenser is the most effective way to ensure a strong, consistent spark.

Installation & Maintenance Tips
-
The Gap is Key: Always set the points gap when the rubbing block is on the highest point of the distributor cam. Use a feeler gauge to set it to .016" (0.4mm).
-
Clean the Contacts: Before starting the engine for the first time, pull a clean piece of cardstock (like a business card) through the closed points to remove any protective film or oil from the factory.
-
Distributor Cam Lube: Apply a very small dab of specialized distributor cam grease to the lobe. This prevents the rubbing block from wearing down prematurely, which would close the points gap over time.
