VW Shift Rod Guide Bushing – 111-701-259AD
This Delrin shift rod guide bushing replaces the stock shift rod bushing, which is known to be difficult to install, wear prematurely, and provide a loose, imprecise shifter feel.
Engineered for improved durability, this replacement bushing delivers smoother, more precise shifting with a solid, positive feel.
Recommended Additional Upgrades:
Billet Shift Coupler P/N: 16-5110-7 & 16-5106-7
Note: Apply grease to both the inside and outside of the bushing before installation. Attempting to remove the bushing after installation may damage or break it.

Installation & Maintenance Tips
-
Grease is Required: Apply a generous coating of multipurpose lithium grease to the inside of the bushing and the shift rod surface to ensure longevity.
-
Access Tip: You can usually access this bushing by removing the shifter assembly. Use a long piece of wire or a "grabber" tool to help position the new bushing into the hanger deep inside the tunnel.
-
Check the Coupler: If you are still experiencing shifting issues after replacing this bushing, check the rear shift coupler under the rear seat inspection plate, as they often wear out at the same time.
