VW Front Brake Drum (4x130) – 111-405-615B (Italian)
The 111-405-615B is a premium, Italian-manufactured front brake drum designed for later-model air-cooled Volkswagens. This specific version is widely considered a high-quality aftermarket option, offering excellent casting density and cooling properties. It features the factory 4x130mm bolt pattern with 14mm x 1.5mm threads, making it a direct replacement for the original equipment.
Engineered for the "Ball Joint" style front end, this front brake drum provides a consistent friction surface for your brake shoes, reducing brake fade and ensuring smooth, chatter-free deceleration. Because it is precision-machined, it offers great balance and longevity, which is critical for maintaining safety in a standard drum brake system. This drum is sized for 230mm x 40mm brake shoes.

Installation & Maintenance Tips Press-Fit Bearing Races: This drum is supplied as a raw casting. You must have the inner and outer wheel bearing races professionally pressed into the drum before installation. Attempting to hammer them in can warp the race or damage the drum.
Replace in Pairs: To ensure even braking and prevent the car from pulling to one side under heavy stopping, always replace front drums in pairs (Left and Right).
Inspect Wheel Cylinders: While the drum is off, check your wheel cylinders for leaks. If the rubber boots are wet with brake fluid, replace the cylinders and your brake shoes immediately.
Adjust Your Brakes: After installing new drums, you must perform a full brake adjustment. Turn the adjusters through the backing plate until the shoes lightly drag on the drum, then back them off slightly.
