Classic Line Dual Circuit Master Cylinder – 113-611-015DDK

The 113-611-015DDK is one of the most important safety components for any air-cooled VW. For 1967–1977 owners, it is a direct OEM-style replacement. For owners of 1966 and earlier models, this master cylinder is the foundation of a modern brake system. When retrofitting this into an early car, it allows for the installation of a dual-chamber reservoir, ensuring that the front and rear brakes operate independently.

If you are performing a disc brake conversion on an early King Pin or Ball Joint front end, this master cylinder provides the correct pedal ratio and fluid displacement. For early model installation, simply pair this with the 17-2878-0 top-mount reservoir to eliminate the need for complicated remote fluid lines.

Installation & Maintenance Tips

  • Bench Bleed First: Always "bench bleed" the master cylinder before installing it in the car. This removes air from the internal piston chambers, making the final system bleeding process much faster and more effective.

  • Reservoir Note: If installing on a 1966 or earlier vehicle, remember to replace your stock reservoir with the 17-2878-0 top-mount style, which sits directly on the master cylinder grommets.

  • Pushrod Adjustment: When swapping master cylinders, check the clearance of the brake pedal pushrod. There should be approximately 1mm of play between the rod and the piston to ensure the brakes don't "drag" as the fluid heats up.
