These valve cover bales sold each and they fit all 40HP/1200cc to 1600cc-based VW engines, which can be found in 61 to 77 Standard Beetle, 71 to 79 Super Beetle, 61 to 74 Karmann Ghia, 60 to 71 Type 2 (Bus), 62 to 73 Type 3 (Notchback, Squareback, Fastback), 73 to 74 Thing, and Vanagon 83-91 water-cooled (not diesels) models. These bales clamp the stock valve covers to the head, sealing in the oil that enters through the push rods to lubricate the valves
