EMPI Dual Carb Linkage Down Rod Extensions (Short & Long Pair)
Achieve perfect carburetor synchronization and smooth throttle response with this Linkage Down Rod Extension Set. These extensions are designed to solve geometry issues common in dual carburetor installations by extending the mounting point on the carburetor arms. This allows the down rods from the hex bar or cross-bar to sit in a more vertical, upright position, providing more linear pull and preventing the "binding" that can lead to inconsistent idling or sluggish acceleration.
Key Features:
-
Improved Geometry: Corrects the angle of the down rods to ensure both carburetors pull evenly and simultaneously throughout the entire throttle range.
-
Complete Pair: Includes one "Short" and one "Long" extension, providing the flexibility needed to match the offset of your specific intake manifold and carburetor brand.
-
Precision Threaded: Machined with 10/32" threads to be a direct fit for most standard EMPI, Weber, and Dellorto linkage components.
-
Essential Replacement: These are the same high-quality extensions included in full EMPI dual carb kits; perfect for replacing lost, stripped, or bent original components.

Application & Fitment
This set is universal for dual carburetor linkage systems using 10/32" down rods and is specifically used in kits for:
| Carburetor Type | Common Configurations |
| EMPI HPMX / Weber IDF | Dual 40mm, 44mm, and 48mm kits |
| EMPI EPC / Weber ICT | Dual 34mm kits |
| Weber IDA | Performance dual 48mm setups |
Tech Tip: When installing these extensions, use a small drop of blue (removable) thread locker to ensure they don't vibrate loose. Once installed, always re-synchronize your carburetors using a flow meter (uni-syn) to ensure that the change in geometry hasn't slightly altered your idle balance.
