Rear Brake Backing Plate, Right, 1968+ Type 1, 113-609-440E is the stamped steel piece that bolts to the axle tube or diagonal arm, and allows the brake shoes to be located via the springs and pins. Price per EACH. The brake shoe adjustment holes often get completely jacked up by people never adjusting the brakes, then trying to adjust seized adjusters and levering against the hole! Regular adjustments of the brakes will prevent this, as will never seize on the adjusters and threads.
You can also use these on earlier model cars, putting adjusting screw access on the BACK SIDE instead of through the drum (Stock early backing plates do not have adjuster holes in them, they are solid).
