EMPI 2" Narrowed Torsion Leaf Pack – 22-2831-0
The EMPI 22-2831-0 is a specialized suspension component designed for lowered and customized Volkswagens running a 2" narrowed front beam. These spring packs provide the necessary tension and ride height control for Link Pin front ends. Unlike standard width leaves, these are precision-cut to match the dimensions of a narrowed housing, ensuring your suspension cycles smoothly without binding or improper spring rates.
Because a Volkswagen front beam contains two tubes, please note that one pack (22-2831-0) completes one tube only. To fully refresh or build a complete front beam, two packs are required. These leaves are manufactured from high-grade spring steel to maintain their "spring memory" even under the increased stresses of a lowered ride height.

Installation & Maintenance Tips
-
Quantity Check: Double-check your order to ensure you have two packs. Installing new leaves in the bottom tube while leaving old leaves in the top tube can lead to erratic handling and uneven ride height.
-
Grease is Essential: Generously coat the entire leaf pack with high-quality lithium or moly grease before sliding it into the beam. This prevents internal friction, squeaking, and premature wear.
-
Center Bolt Alignment: When sliding the pack into the beam, ensure the center "dimple" or set-screw hole aligns perfectly with the beam's center pin. If this is misaligned, your front end will not be centered.
-
Inspect the Bushings: While the leaves are out, inspect your beam's inner and outer bushings or bearings. New springs won't fix the "slop" caused by worn-out beam bushings.
