This VW Left Door Lock Mechanism installs at the rear edge of the left (driver’s side) door and securely holds the door closed when latched. Designed as a direct‑fit replacement for later Beetles, this lock mechanism is ideal for restorations or repairs where the original unit is worn, damaged, or missing.

While originally used on 1960–1964 VW Beetles, this door lock mechanism can also be installed on 1956–1959 Beetles when paired with the later‑style 1960–1964 door striker plate, making it a versatile solution for updated or mixed‑year door components.
