T1 71-79, T2 74-91 Ignition Lock Cylinder

Ignition Lock Cylinder comes with 2 keys and installs into the steering column lock assembly. The lock cylinder does not turn the car on directly; it operates the ignition switch which sits below the steering column lock. If your key currently can be inserted into the lock assembly and can be twisted, your key and lock assembly are fine. The lock cylinder fits 71-77 Bugs, 71-79 Super Beetles, 71-74 Karmann Ghias, 71-79 Type 2s, and 71-73 Type 3s, 73-74 Things, 80-91 Vanagons and 86-91 Syncros.
