This tapered roller wheel bearing is intended to replace the weaker ball bearings originally used in early Volkswagen front hubs. It’s an outer/front bearing for the front axle on compatible VW Beetle and Karmann Ghia models.

• Designed for outer position on the front wheel assembly 

• Converts from stock ball bearings to more durable tapered roller design, providing better load handling under both vertical and horizontal forces 

• You will need to remove the old race before installing the provided new race into the brake drum before installing the bearing itself 

• Must be properly greased during installation for long service life

Fits the following VW models:

• Beetle: 1954–1965 

• Karmann Ghia: 1956–1965 

Installation Notes

• Outer race must be pressed into the drum or hub before installing the bearing 

• Use a high-quality bearing grease to pack the bearing before seating it

• If you don’t already have one, a matching grease cap should be installed alongside the new bearing
