Critical Fitment

These housings are sold as a pair and are designed for 1971 through Early 1973 Super Beetles.

• Chassis Limit: Fits models up to Chassis #1333003655 / 1533003655.

• 1973 Model Check: These are the correct housings for early 1973 models that feature bolt-in ball joints.

Required Components

To complete the lowering process, these adjustable housings must be paired with specific EMPI parts:

• Strut Insert: Requires use of EMPI Lowered Strut Inserts (P/N 00-9629-0) (sold separately).

• Springs: You can reuse your existing stock suspension springs or install new stock replacements (P/N 00-9628-0).

Important Note: Lowering your ride height 2-4 inches requires the use of smaller tires to ensure proper clearance and optimal drivability.
