This is a 12-volt, 3-prong flasher relay unit used to power turn signal and hazard light operation in VW vehicles. It is designed for systems that use a 3-terminal flasher and integrates signals from the hazard switch, turn signal lever, and the speedometer/stalk indicator.

Notes & Installation Tips

• In some early models (1968–1970), you may need to use a jumper wire on terminal 49A (linked to the indicator circuit) because this relay lacks a built-in “K” (indicator feed) terminal. 

• Terminals are labeled:

  • 49 – Power input from fuse box 

  • 49A – Output to turn signal switch / indicator lamp

  • 31 – Ground (chassis)
