Window Lift Channel (Sash) – 211-837-571A

The 211-837-571A is an essential part for any Bus door restoration. Over time, the original steel channel often traps water against the glass, leading to "expansion rust" that can actually crack the bottom of the window glass or cause the glass to separate from the regulator entirely. If you hear a grinding noise or if your window glass feels "loose" while cranking, a failing lift channel is the most likely culprit.

This replacement channel is a precise reproduction of the original German part, ensuring that the window regulator rollers slide smoothly from end to end without sticking.

Installation & Maintenance Tips

  • Use Glass Setting Tape: You should never install the glass into the metal channel "metal-to-glass." You must use Window Glass Setting Tape (often a thin rubber or cork-fleece material) to provide a cushioned, friction-fit grip.

  • Clean the Regulator: While the door is apart, clean the old, hardened grease off your Window Regulator (211-837-501/502) and apply fresh lithium grease to the tracks.

  • Clear the Drain Holes: When installing the new channel, ensure the drain holes at the bottom of your door are clear. If water cannot escape the door, your new channel will begin to rust prematurely just like the old one.
