The 113-301-257 is an often-overlooked but vital fastener for any vintage VW chassis restoration. Over decades, these bolts are subjected to road salt, moisture, and extreme vibration, often leading to "seizing" in the frame horns. When rebuilding a transmission or replacing mounts, using fresh hardware prevents the risk of bolt failure, which could lead to severe drivetrain misalignment.
This bolt is designed to pass through the transmission cradle (carrier) and thread directly into the frame horns. It is compatible with standard rubber mounts as well as aftermarket urethane or solid performance mounts.

Anti-Seize is Essential: Because these bolts thread into the hollow frame horns, always apply a liberal amount of anti-seize lubricant to the threads before installation to ensure they can be removed in the future.
