VW Mechanical Fuel Pump (Generator Style) – 113-127-025CD

The 113-127-025CD is a high-quality mechanical fuel pump specifically designed for air-cooled Type 1 based engines equipped with a generator. Because generators have a larger diameter than modern alternators, this pump features a specific offset body and a lower profile to provide the necessary clearance for the fan belt and charging system.

This is a "non-rebuildable" sealed unit, engineered to provide consistent fuel pressure to your carburetor. It is designed to work in conjunction with a 108mm (approx. 4.25") fuel pump pushrod. Using the incorrect pushrod length with this pump can lead to catastrophic engine damage or immediate pump failure, so it is vital to verify your current hardware during installation.

Detailed Vehicle Compatibility This pump is designed for 1600cc engines using a generator across the following models:

VW Beetle (Standard):

  • 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974

VW Super Beetle:

  • 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974

VW Karmann Ghia:

  • 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974

VW Bus (Type 2):

  • 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971

VW Thing:

  • 1973, 1974

Installation & Maintenance Tips

  • Measure Your Rod: Always measure your Fuel Pump Pushrod before installation. If your car has been converted to an alternator, you likely need a different pump and a shorter 100mm rod.

  • New Gaskets: Always use two new Fuel Pump Gaskets—one between the engine case and the plastic pedestal, and one between the pedestal and the pump.

  • Check the Pedestal: Inspect your plastic fuel pump pedestal (flange) for cracks. A cracked pedestal can cause massive oil leaks and vacuum issues.

  • Prime the System: Before starting the engine for the first time, manually fill the fuel lines to prevent the pump from running dry, which can wear out the internal diaphragm prematurely.
