VW Bus Front Suspension Ball Joint – 1968–1979 (Delphi)

Restore Precision and Safety to Your Type 2 Steering

Is your classic VW Bus wandering on the highway or clunking over bumps? It’s likely time to refresh your front suspension. This High-Quality Ball Joint by Delphi is the ideal replacement for aging, worn-out factory units. Manufactured in Turkey to rigorous standards, Delphi components are known for their durability and "original feel" performance.

Because the Type 2 front end relies heavily on these pivot points for both steering and suspension travel, installing a premium ball joint is one of the most effective ways to tighten up your ride and ensure your Bus stays safely on the road.

Pro Installation Tips

  • The "Full Refresh" Rule: Since labor for ball joint replacement is intensive, we highly recommend replacing all four (4) joints at once. This ensures consistent handling and prevents you from having to tear down the suspension again in six months.

  • Press-In Fit: These are press-in style joints. We recommend using a professional hydraulic press for installation to ensure they are seated perfectly straight without damaging the housing.

  • Alignment is Key: Any time you disturb the ball joints or control arms, a professional front-end alignment is required to prevent premature tire wear.
