Dished Cam Oil Pump (26mm) – 111-115-107BK
The 111-115-107BK is the correct replacement for nearly all dual-port 1600cc engines produced after 1971. In these engines, Volkswagen moved to a "dished" camshaft design, which requires this specific pump profile to seat correctly against the cam gear. The 26mm gears are a standard "heavy-duty" upgrade over the original 21mm gears, providing superior lubrication and oil pressure.
Because this pump is often sold without the cover, you must ensure your existing cover is perfectly flat or replace it with a new heavy-duty steel cover. Any air leak or scoring on the cover face will lead to a loss of oil pressure and engine overheating.

Installation & Maintenance Tips
-
Cam Identification: Before installing, look through the oil pump hole in the case. If the cam gear is held on by 4 rivets and appears concave, this is the correct pump.
-
Proper Sealing: Always use a new thin paper gasket between the pump and the case, and another between the pump and the cover. Do not use silicone or liquid sealants.
-
Priming: It is highly recommended to pack the pump gears with assembly lube or heavy engine oil before installation to ensure the pump "primes" immediately upon startup.
