VW Headlight Switch — PN 311941531A

This headlight switch fits directly into the dash, secured by a 10 mm escutcheon nut, and includes a 5 mm threaded post (knob sold separately). It offers three selectable positions—OFF, parking/running lights, and headlights—with an integrated rheostat function (twist further while in position) to dim or brighten dash illumination.

Electrical & Mechanical Details

• Works with both 6V and 12V systems 

• Terminals labeled on switch:
   • 30 — Input power from fuse box / battery circuit 
   • 56 — Output to dimmer / headlight relay or switch 
   • 57 — Front running light output (often omitted or adapted in modern wiring) 
   • 58 / 58b — Outputs to running lights and instrument panel lighting respectively
