Complete Pedal Assembly with EMPI Upgrade – 113-798-300
The 113-798-300 is an essential upgrade for any restoration or daily driver. The original Volkswagen pedal cluster is one of the most neglected areas of the car, often suffering from a "lazy" throttle return or a brake pedal that feels disconnected. By installing this complete assembly, you restore the mechanical precision of your braking and shifting.
The addition of the EMPI 98-1093-0 aluminum accelerator pedal is a favorite for enthusiasts. It provides a crisp, linear throttle response and a rugged look that matches both stock and custom interiors.

Installation & Maintenance Tips
-
The "Two-Bolt" Install: The assembly is secured by two main bolts through the center tunnel. When installing, ensure the Master Cylinder Pushrod is correctly aligned before tightening; if it's off-center, it can cause the brake pedal to bind or squeak. And don't forget to put the brake pedal return spring under its tension!
-
Grease the Pivot: While the unit is new, apply a high-quality chassis grease to the main pivot shaft. This ensures a lifetime of smooth operation and prevents the "squeaky pedal" syndrome common in dry assemblies.
-
Adjust Your Cables: After installation, you must re-adjust your Clutch Cable and Throttle Cable. A new assembly often sits slightly differently than a worn-out one, and improper adjustment can lead to clutch slippage or a throttle that won't reach wide-open-throttle (WOT).
